Wear a personal flotation device and use a leash. Check the weather and local conditions before launching, and avoid conditions beyond your ability.
Rinse the board with fresh water after use, especially after saltwater paddling. Dry it before storage and protect its finish from impacts, abrasion, and prolonged direct sunlight.
Rinse and dry the paddle and removable fin. Keep sand and debris clear of the fin box, and check that the fin is secured before launching.
Use a suitable padded rack and straps designed for paddleboard transport. Secure the board without overtightening the straps. Protect the board from hard surfaces while loading and unloading.
