At a glance, the collection stands out thanks to the vintage aesthetic. “There is an ever-present sport motif in weekend watercraft, and our goal with Beau Lake has been to infuse design and fashion into the category,” says co-founder and design director Lee Kline. “In terms of our paddleboard collection, that meant replacing the purely sporty design with an inspired, vintage look,” he adds. Handmade to the highest standard of quality, the Beau Lake range combines timeless good-looks, performance, and durability.
The collection includes high-performance paddleboards and dock chairs as well as a revolutionary pedal boat. The hand-shaped Muskoka board boasts a highly polished and UV protected polyurethane finish over mahogany and maple wood. Featuring a clear grip surface and a modern design, the Tremblant board makes the most of tactile qualities and textures of the natural materials. For the 14-foot Rapid board, Beau Lake collaborated with well-known boarder and designer Julien Fillion. The paddleboard is perfect as a weekend racer and features a carbon fiber and Macassar ebony wood build as well as a hatchet nose and flat bottom for extra speed.
The Great Lakes Chair offers the perfect opportunity to relax while admiring the sunset over the water. Inspired by the iconic Adirondack chair, the seating complements the aesthetics of the popular design with structural improvements. Crafted from black locust wood, which is the fastest-growing hardwood in the world, the chair also features marine quality, stainless steel hardware. Finally, the Beau Lake Runabout transforms the classic human-powered pedal boat into a precision engineered vintage beauty.
The paddleboards are available now starting from $2,300, while the chair costs $1,600. Apart from the innovative boat, the company aims to expand the collection with various products. These include towels, blankets, safety gear, and other accessories. And that’s not all. In the near future, the brand will also team up with renowned architect Todd Saunders to design a new range of prefab cabins and saunas. Photographs© Trevor Francis, Olivier Staub, Shin Sugino.
